Scope
Excavating (Canals, Lakes, Levees)--Class "A." The scope of work of a Class "A" engineered earthwork builder shall include the excavation to obtain or remove materials such as rock, gravel, and sand to construct or excavate canals, lakes, and levees, including the clearing of land of surface debris and vegetation, grubbing of roots, removal of debris; and leveling of the surface lands incidental and necessary thereto, in compliance with all environmental laws, the building code, and other applicable codes and regulations. In order to be eligible to be certified as a Class "A" engineered earthwork builder by the board, the applicant shall have at least four (4) years of practical experience in the category.
Examination Content Outline
The Excavation--Class A examination is based on trade-specific information pertaining to materials, tools, equipment, practices, terminology, and relevant laws. The examination is a two (2) hour, open book exam that consists of 50 questions.
