Scope

A paving engineering contractor  is an engineering contractor who has a qualifying agent qualified and certified to construct roads, airport runways, and aprons, parking lots, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, property line walls, storm drainage facilities and to perform the excavating, clearing and grading incidental thereto. A paving engineering contractor may not excavate for canals and lakes. 

 

Examination Content Outline

The Paving Engineering Contractor examination is based on trade-specific information pertaining to materials, tools, equipment, practices, terminology, and relevant laws.  The examination is a two (2) hour, open book exam that consists of 50 questions.
